Join us for the artist talk by our current artists in residence fantastic little splash.
At the talk, they will present their artistic practice, as well as talk about their ongoing research on the voices of inauthentic actors who seek to polarise societies and radicalise political processes, particularly in Slovenia. The artists and the visitors will discuss distorted perception systems, expanding cyberwar sensorium, and emotions as infrastructures.

fantastic little splash is a collective comprised of journalist/artist Lera Malchenko and artist/director Oleksandr Hants. fantastic little splash combines art practice and media studies to research collective imagination and emotions appropriation in technosocial systems. Group works with videos, texts and interactive game-based tools. Established in 2016 in Ukraine, their projects have been exhibited at events including transmediale, post.MoMA, Plokta TV, Ars Electronica, Liste Art Fair Basel, Construction festival VI x CYNETART, KISFF, and Docudays, among others. They were participants of the transmediale x Pro Helvetia Residency 2022, and the Cité internationale des arts residency 2023.
🌐 The residency is a part of the DATAS: The Data and the Sovereign, an international art and research programme that brings together artists, theorists, and technologists to explore how digital infrastructures, AI, and algorithmic governance impact personal and political sovereignty. In an age where big data corporations and algorithmic systems increasingly shape global political and social dynamics, DATAS uses the lens of art to challenge the normalisation of surveillance, data extraction, and digital control.

Na pogovoru bosta umetnika predstavila svojo umetniško prakso ter spregovorila o trenutnem projeku, v sklopu katerega raziskujeta glasove neavtentičnih akterjev, ki skušajo polarizirati družbe in radikalizirati politične procese, zlasti v Sloveniji. Umetnika in obiskovalci bodo razpravljali o izkrivljenih zaznavnih sistemih, širitvi kibernetskega vojnega občutja in čustvih kot infrastrukturah.

fantastic little splash je kolektiv, ki ga sestavljata novinarka in umetnica Lera Malchenko ter umetnik in režiser Oleksandr Hants. V svojem združujeta umetniško prakso, pri kateri uporabljata video, besedila in interaktivna orodja ter medijske študije z namenom raziskovanja kolektivne domišljije in prisvajanja čustev v tehnosocialnih sistemih. Kolektiv je bil ustanovljen leta 2016 v Ukrajini, njune projekte pa so razstavljali na dogodkih, kot so transmediale, post.MoMA, Plokta TV, Ars Electronica, Liste Art Fair Basel, Construction festival VI x CYNETART, KISFF in Docudays. Bila sta udeleženca rezidenčnega programa transmediale x Pro Helvetia 2022 in Cité internationale des arts 2023.
🌐 Rezidenca je del mednarodnega umetniškega in raziskovalnega programa DATAS: Podatki in suveren, ki združuje umetnike, teoretike in tehnologe, z namenom, da bi raziskali, kako digitalne infrastrukture, umetna inteligenca in algoritemsko upravljanje vplivajo na osebno in politično suverenost. V obdobju, ko velike podatkovne korporacije in algoritemski sistemi vse bolj oblikujejo globalno politično in družbeno dinamiko, DATAS skozi prizmo umetnosti izpodbija normalizacijo nadzora, pridobivanja podatkov in digitalne kontrole.
